The Rydal Suite
This is in the older part of the house and features a double height
ceiling complete with original
oak
beams and a cast iron fire place. The bedroom is very large and airy
and tends
to be the favourite with our visitors. It features a north facing
skylight (thought to have been
installed by Frederick Yates, a local artist who lived at Cote How
in the early 1900's.)
It was in this very room that Ex American President Woodrow Wilson
had his portrait painted by
Frederick Yates. See extracts from: An
American President's love affair with the English Lake District.
