Walk Leader : John Adams
John Adams is a walk leader for a group of walkers known as the Wyre Ramblers. On the coach for each trip John provides a brief printed summary of the planned walk for those wishing to join him.
The walks his group undertakes make good use of not being constricted to a circular route. With a suitable dropping off and pickup point John plans many fine walks along some of the less frequented footpaths of Northern England.

Today's walk is fairly easy. However due to the distance and shorter day we will need to keep up a good pace in order to complete the walk inn the allotted time.

 Footpath :
East from village to Street Lane (R) short distance on lane (L) footpath to Bland House
Lane :
Southeast to Knott Lane
Footpath :
(L) North past Stone Circle
Bridleway :
(R) East to lane
Lane :
(L) Northeast to Sunbiggin
Bridleway :
Northeast to Little Kinmond, on to Settlement
Footpath :
North to Clockeld then the lane
Lane :
North into Great Asby

GREAT ASBY
Footpath :
Leave village close to the church taking a (L) footpath northwest to Scale Beck and on to the lane
Lane :
(R) towards a (L) footpath before Long Moor
Footpath :
(L) North to Howe Slacks, (R) northeast to Rutter Mill

RUTTER MILL
Footpath :
North along Hoff Beck, cross FB, continue along riverbank to a (R) lane to take us into Hoff

HOFF
Footpath :
 We leave Hoff heading north along the river to Bandley Bridge
Bridleway :
 Crossing and then leaving the river we reach the outskirts of Appleby. North through the village streets and pick up the footpath Eden
Footpath :
 (R) Follow the footpath and streets into the centre of Appleby
